2025 01 25 — Recording one of many purrs from the cats at Cowboy Cat Ranch. Here, five cats live together with Sebastiaan and Evelien, cat scientists and founders of the non-profit organization that has been helping cats through ethical research for more than a decade now. To accurately record these low frequency purrs, a specialized, high-quality microphone and recorder are needed.
The cat in the photograph below is Pumpkin, a 15-year-old tortoiseshell who was adopted from a shelter at age 7. The veterinarian at the shelter diagnosed her with heart disease, which is likely the reason she had been waiting for her forever home for more than 6 months! She has been with us for over 8 years now and has been happy and healthy all that time!
2024 11 29 — Today we received the equipment for the project from Sweetwater!
2024 11 14 — We received the money from UFAW and ordered the equipment from Sweetwater.
2024 10 10 — We received an email from UFAW informing us that our grant application was approved! This is such lovely news and it means that we can now purchase two microphones and two audio recorders for this project.
